Roman Jewelers, The Michener Art Museum and Bucks Magazine strive to bring
neighboring counties together through art and culture

On Saturday, April 5, 2008, the James A. Michener Art Museum will reach across the
Delaware River and will partner with Roman Jewelers (Flemington, NJ) and BUCKS
magazine (New Hope, PA) to bring neighboring Hunterdon and Bucks counties together
at an event featuring art, music and local cuisine. This "sampling" event will be
held in Renaissance Plaza (home of Roman Jewelers) at 39 Hwy 12, Flemington, NJ.
Located just fifteen minutes from New Hope, everyone is invited to attend this free
event on April 5, 2008 from 2 pm to 5 pm to get acquainted with the Art & Soul of
Bucks County, the Michener Art Museum.

Bucks County artist Robert Whitley, a master woodworker of national reputation, is
the featured artist of a solo exhibition at the Michener Museum in New Hope through
June 1, 2008. He will be on site at the "Meet the Michener" event in Flemington on
April 5th to discuss his original and contemporary furniture designs, as well as
historic reproductions. Works by Robert Whitley are on permanent exhibit at the
National Museum of Fine Arts in Washington, D.C., the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and
the Philadelphia Museum of art, in addition to several other university and private
collections.

Guests can also delight in two informal jazz performances during the event by
renowned bassist and composer Charles Fambrough and Friends. During his nearly
40-year professional career, Fambrough has performed and recorded with numerous
bands, most famously Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and the Wynton Marsalis
Quintet.

Market Roost Fine Catering, Restaurant & Gift Gallery, located in Flemington, NJ,
will provide a sampling of hors d'oeuvres for this free event. Triumph Brewery,
which has locations in Princeton, NJ, New Hope, PA and Philadelphia, PA, will
provide a beer sampling for guests.

In addition, there will be selected art and general educational books and other
items from the Michener Museum's Shops for sale during the event.

This "Meet the Michener" event is part of a new Hands Across the River program
sponsored by Roman Jewelers, designed to increase awareness between Hunterdon
County, NJ and Bucks County, PA. This program will encourage individuals living in
both counties to find out what cultural opportunities, shopping and businesses are
available for them on the other side of the Delaware River.

Roman Jewelers is a family owned and operated store with locations in Flemington and
the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Roman Jewelers specializes in custom jewelry design,
fine jewelry including designer, diamond and bridal jewelry, and also offers a wide
selection of Swiss watches.

BUCKS magazine is the art, culture and lifestyle magazine of Bucks and Hunterdon
counties.

The "Meet the Michener" event takes place April 5, 2008 from 2 pm to 5 pm, and is
free and open to the public. No reservations are required, but seating for the jazz
performances is limited and will be on a first-come first served basis.
